Notes From a Slow Day in the TCG Corner

Today’s work felt like one long stretch of looking at TCG accessories without really doing anything important. In the morning, we started by checking a few card binders that had been sitting on the table for days. Someone asked whether the stitching looked “tighter or looser than before,” but no one remembered what “before” meant. We lined up several binders next to each other and stared at them for a while, but nothing stood out. One binder had a slightly wavy page, but after flipping it back and forth, we couldn’t tell if it was actually wavy or if we were just imagining things.
Later, we tried organizing some leftover card sleeves. There were a few random colors—mint, smoke gray, deep violet—and we couldn’t remember why we had that specific mix. Maybe they were sample pieces? Maybe someone ordered them accidentally? We stacked them, unstacked them, shuffled them around, and finally put them in a box labeled “misc,” even though that box already had miscellaneous items from last month. I guess future us will figure it out.
Around lunchtime, someone opened a random pack from a set I don’t even remember. The first card sparked a ten-minute conversation about whether pack-opening videos should be slower or faster. Some argued that fast openings keep the excitement high, while others said slow openings build suspense. No consensus, of course. Then we argued whether people in clips talk too much or too little. Somehow this turned into a debate about camera angles, then hand positioning, then lighting, none of which we planned to adjust today.
In the afternoon, we briefly examined a few deck boxes. One person said the lid “felt slightly different,” but couldn’t explain how. Another said the magnet might be weaker than another model but didn’t have that model on hand to compare. We tapped the box, shook it a bit, opened and closed it a few times, then gave up. It still opened and closed, which was enough for now.
Before ending the day, we talked about our TCG accessory category page layout. Some thought we should add more icons, others thought we should remove the ones we have. Someone suggested swapping two blocks, but after swapping them, we couldn’t tell if it looked better or worse. For now, everything stays the same.
Nothing significant happened today, but it was still a full day of touching TCG-related objects and having circular discussions. I guess that counts as progress, depending on how loosely you define progress.
