Keep it Mint: A Guide to Maintaining Your TCG Gear

1. Cleaning Your PU Leather Binders
PU leather is durable and water-resistant, making it easier to clean than genuine leather. However, you should never use harsh chemicals or alcohol-based cleaners, as they can strip the finish.
To clean your PU leather card binder, simply use a damp (not soaking) microfiber cloth with a tiny drop of mild dish soap. Wipe the surface in a circular motion and dry it immediately with a clean towel. This removes skin oils and dust, keeping the embossed textures of our Mythology Series looking sharp.
2. Revitalizing Your Playmat
Playmats act as a giant sponge for skin oils and table grime. If your mat starts to look dull, it’s time for a wash. Most high-density rubber playmats can be hand-washed in cool water with a gentle detergent. Avoid the dryer! Always air-dry your mat flat to prevent the rubber base from warping or the stitched edges from fraying.
3. Polishing Your Resin and Metal Dice
Dice can lose their luster after hundreds of rolls.
-
Resin Dice: Use a dry microfiber cloth to buff away fingerprints. If they are particularly dirty, a quick rinse in lukewarm water is fine, but avoid abrasive sponges that could scratch the sharp-edged resin finish.
-
Metal Dice: These can be cleaned with a damp cloth. For zinc alloy dice, ensuring they are completely dry before storage is key to preventing oxidation.
4. When to Replace Your Sleeves
Sleeves are the most "disposable" part of your setup. Once the corners start to split or the "shuffle feel" becomes sticky, it’s time for a fresh set of artistic card sleeves. Using old, dirty sleeves can actually transfer grime onto your cards, defeating the purpose of protection.
