How to Host a Home TCG Tournament
Share
A home tournament is the perfect way to blend competition and camaraderie. With a little prep, you can make it memorable.
1. Choose the Format
Will it be single elimination, round robin, or casual free-play? Decide early so players can prepare their decks.
2. Set the Rules
Make sure everyone is on the same page about banned cards, deck limits, and time controls. Post the rules before the first match.
3. Prepare the Space
A big table, good lighting, and enough chairs are essential. Keep snacks and drinks nearby, but away from the cards!
4. Prizes and Fun Extras
Small prizes like booster packs or custom tokens can add excitement. You can also give awards for “Best Deck Design” or “Best Sportsmanship.”
5. Keep It Social
Remember, the goal is fun. Play music, take photos, and share highlights on social media.
